Some fitness milestones are measured in pounds lifted or seconds shaved off a workout. But at CrossFit Coordinate, the milestone we celebrate most is also the most honest one: simply showing up — 1,000 times. Today, we're thrilled to honor Aliya G as she joins our exclusive 1,000 Class Committed Club. A ballet and yoga background didn't prepare her for what CrossFit had in store — but she showed up anyway, and she hasn't stopped since.

From Ballet to Barbell: Aliya's CrossFit Journey

Aliya came to CrossFit Coordinate the way many of our best members do — she followed her husband. "I followed my husband lol," she admits with characteristic candor. "But I'm glad I did because I've made some of my closest friends here."

With a background rooted in the grace and discipline of ballet and yoga, Aliya brought a unique foundation to the gym floor. But what CrossFit gave her in return was something those pursuits couldn't: the feeling of being truly, undeniably strong.

"I'm the strongest I've ever been. My background is in ballet and yoga and while I love both of them, what I love about CrossFit is feeling strong — especially as I get older, I know the benefits of building and keeping muscle mass in peri-menopause. For women, CrossFit is a no-brainer for so many reasons."

That perspective — grounded in both personal experience and a clear-eyed understanding of what women's bodies need as they age — is exactly the kind of insight that resonates deeply in our community. Aliya isn't just here to exercise. She's here to invest in her long-term health, and 1,000 classes is proof that investment is paying off.

Playing the Long Game: A Goal Worth Carrying

Ask most people what motivates them at the gym and you'll hear about fitting into old jeans or hitting a number on the scale. Aliya's answer is different — and honestly, it's one of the best we've ever heard.

"Someday I will carry my grandkids up a mountain in a pack on my back, and I know functional fitness programs like CrossFit are the most efficient way to get me to that goal."

That's not a short-term goal. That's a vision for a life lived with strength and capability decades from now. Her Advice for Anyone on the Fence

We asked Aliya what she'd tell someone who's been thinking about joining CrossFit Coordinate but hasn't taken the leap yet. Her answer was perfectly direct:

"Do it. You can scale everything. You don't have to be 'fit' to start. You just have to show up and then keep showing up."

Show up and keep showing up. That's the entire secret to 1,000 classes, distilled into eight words. It's not about being the fastest, the strongest, or the most experienced person in the room. It's about walking through the door — over and over again — until one day you look back and realize how far you've come.

Eric is a squash player turned CrossFit fanatic.  He is passionate about sports performance and a devout believer in the positive impacts of intensive training on all aspects of life.  When he is not at the gym, he can be found on the squash court, wrangling his children, or staring into space thinking about statistics.

Brandon has over 10 years experience with CrossFit, many of those years coaching. You will typically find him lifting heavy and having lots of fun at the gym! His keen eye makes him a master at correcting movement patterns!

Alys has coached with us many years! She brings her talent as not only as a great CrossFitter, but also a great coach! Coach Kristen wears many hats at CrossFit Coordinate. You’ll typically find Kristen coaching the 8:30 and 9:30am class where she brings her energy and years of fitness instruction experience to our community. In addition to crushing our workouts and cheering everyone on, you’ll find Kristen handling the day to day operations of our community and running our nutrition program!

Rick Borelli

COACH

Rick has been involved in the health and fitness industry since 2000 and in the CrossFit world since 2012 (he even owned his own CF gym for several years). He has multiple certifications under his belt including CFL1, Kids CrossFit, and CrossFit Gymnastics.

Peter Ghali

OWNER / COACH

Peter’s passion for fitness and health started much later in life. Overworked and stressed out, he turned to CrossFit to help. Ten Years later he is still working hard in the gym and helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. You’ll find Peter in the Gym quite a bit with his daughter, Hannah, and son, Luke working out and coaching classes!

HOLD POLICY

Month-to-Month Membership Agreements and Annual Membership Agreements: You may place your Membership on hold two (2) times per calendar year up to three (3) consecutive months each time. Advanced notice of at least two (2) business days is required. The hold must be 30 days in duration at a minimum and 30 days must elapse between holds. Upon expiration of the term of the hold, your account will automatically become active and payments will resume. Should you choose to return prior to the end of their hold period, the hold will be released and payments will resume.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All membership agreements require 30-days written notice to cancel your membership. This form will serve as your 30-days written cancellation notice. Note that if you have a scheduled renewal payment within 30-days of your invoice billing date, the payment will be processed as scheduled. Your membership will be canceled at the end of your final paid month. All payments are non-refundable. All grandfathered membership rates will also be forfeited and returning members will be subject to current rates.
