Patrick Williams Hits 1,000 Classes at CrossFit Coordinate
Six years, thousands of 5AM alarms, and a crew that never let him quit.

Some milestones you can do the math on. 1,000 classes at CrossFit Coordinate — Cary's community-driven CrossFit gym — means roughly three workouts a week, every week, for six straight years. It means showing up in January when it's dark at 5am and showing up in July when it's already 80 degrees by sunrise. Today we're celebrating the member who did exactly that: Patrick Williams just hit his 1,000th class.
1,000 classes in — Patrick Williams, front and center at CrossFit Coordinate.
Why He Walked Through the Door
Patrick joined back in 2020, in the strange, uncertain months right after COVID started. He and his wife weren't just looking for a workout — they were looking for something to hold onto during a year when almost everything else felt on pause. In his own words:
That's a story we hear often from members across Cary, Apex, and Holly Springs — people who came in looking for a challenge and found something sturdier: a community that showed up for them as consistently as they showed up for it. Six years and 1,000 classes later, Patrick and his wife are still here. That's not an accident. It's what our intro process is designed to find — the right fit, not just the right workout.
What He Found Once He Got Here
We asked Patrick how CrossFit Coordinate has changed his life over these six years. His answer was simple and, honestly, exactly what we hope every member feels:
Notice what's doing the heavy lifting in that answer — not the barbell, but the friendships. Patrick didn't hit 1,000 classes on willpower alone. He hit it because the people around him made staying committed the easy choice.
Ask Patrick what actually gets him out of bed before sunrise, six years in, and the answer isn't complicated at all.
The 5AM Crew.
— Patrick, on what motivates him to hit 1,000 classes
Power Cleans, Squat Cleans, and Clean and Jerks are my favorite. Burpees, Burpees, and Burpees are my least favorite.

1,000 classes of chasing the lift he loves most.
Still finding another gear, 1,000 classes in.
1,000 Classes Isn't a Streak. It's a Community.
Nobody hits four figures alone. Patrick's 1,000 classes were built one 5am wakeup at a time, alongside people who made showing up easier than staying home.
1,000 Classes, In His Own Words
We asked Patrick what he'd tell someone on the fence about joining. No hesitation:
Coming from someone six years and 1,000 classes deep, that's not a marketing line — it's a track record.

If His Story Sounds Like Yours…
Maybe you're not chasing 1,000 classes — maybe you just want your first one. Maybe you're a Triangle-area early riser who's heard about the 5AM Crew and wondered what all the fuss is about, or you're searching for a CrossFit gym in Cary where the community actually shows up, not just the workout. Patrick's story started the same way most do: one class, then another, then a community he didn't want to leave.
You don't need six years of experience to start. You don't even need to like burpees (nobody does — ask Patrick). Our coaches build the workout around you. You bring the willingness to show up once, and see where it goes.
Patrick — congratulations on 1,000. Thank you for showing up, class after class, year after year. From all of us, and especially from the 5AM Crew: here's to the next 1,000.
